Avery began her career as a Marcom writer at Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), where she wrote everything from executive-level brochures to white papers to flyers to gift and product catalogs. Before leaving HDS to consult full time, Avery advanced to the position of Director, Web Content and Design. In this role, she was responsible for setting the creative direction, planning overall site strategy, and managing the day-to-day responsibilities of the corporate Web site.
As a consultant, Avery has done both print and Web collateral for startups and large companies alike, including ACT Medical, Adobe Systems, Cisco Systems, Dynaptics, E*TRADE, Hewlett-Packard, NetFlix, and OnLink Technologies.
